The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs has put together a team to promote European-style Heritage Open Days for the historic vehicle movement. The team is currently liaising with English Heritage, FBHVC member organisations, National Trust and individual venues with a view to encouraging the enjoyment of days out with historic vehicles at some of this country's particularly interesting but perhaps lesser known locations. Heritage Open Days will celebrate architectural and cultural heritage, when a great variety of properties normally closed to the public, or which normally charge admission, are open free of charge. It is planned that these open days will take place over 1011 September, thus linking historic vehicles with the established heritage world with an historic vehicle display which can be an effective means of enhancing a particular event or venue.
