damage. I was lucky to get away with it just needing a few parts -only two months earlier on a ride out with another friend of mine on his bobber, exactly the same thing had happened, but he'd locked up at about 50 mph right in front of me.

Apart from that she's been a good girl... except for shaking the rear 'guard almost to bits. That was another repair by Benny. Actually he's worked on the back 'guard twice - the other time was when, during a trip to Cornwall (yes, I know, I'm mad to go that far), I went over a quite a large bump at speed and the mounting bracket snapped clean off the frame... although it could've had something to do with the barrel bag that was strapped to it. We must have looked quite a sight on the motorway with the mudguard rubbing on the tyre and creating a huge rooster tail of burning tyre smoke. It was appropriately bodged at the services with bungee cords and the like, and the smouldering remains of shaved-off tyre rubber was peeled off the battery much to onlookers bemusement. There was a bit of a groove in the tyre, it's true, but I had to press on.

Actually, now I come to think uf it, I've got lots of stories I could tell about our adventures, but I hate typing so that will have to do for now. 'Odd Job' is back in her Winter den now, resting on her laurels until the Spring. Look out for her then!
