This bike is numbered 06 of only 60 ever produced. It's one of a limited run of Specialized's 'Ned Overend Final Edition', and was sold around 1994/95.

It was a radical frame for its time, combining carbon tubing with titanium lugs. Merlin produced the lugs.

The fork is the Specialized FSX Carbon and this model has a Shimano XTR M900 groupset, except for the brakes, which were replaced with a pair of Avid Tri-Align 2s, as seen in the Stumpjumper 25th anniversary book.

I added a Specialized titanium bar and stem and a Zoom lightweight seatpost. Why a Zoom post on that kind of high-end bike you may ask? Just to match the post colour with the bar and stem and also because Ned Overend was racing with Zoom components.

I couldn't finish this bike off without some of the 'Big S' company items such as a Prolog Titanium saddle and a set of Cannibal Umma Gumma tyres built on Specialized XL21 rims. Perfect.

Quick tip

Stash a thermos with some hot tea or coffee in the car for after the ride. It'll give you something warm to look forward to after what will undoubtedly be a chilly post-ride costume change

Blow into your hydration tube after drinking to force the water back into the bladder and keep if < * from freezing.
